You are invited to submit nominations for the Zak-Tenne Lectureship Award in Materials Science. The award was established in 2024 by a generous contribution from Profs. Reshef Tenne, past president and long-time member of the IVS and his wife Prof. Alla Zak. The award is granted in alternate years to scientists/ engineers whose main activity is based in Israel, or to those based outside of Israel. This year, the award is earmarked for the former. The award winner will present a keynote lecture at the IVS conference to be held on December 21st, 2025. The award winner will be granted a certificate, and cash prize of NIS equivalent of $1000. Furthermore, registration waiver to the conference will be granted for a member of the winner’s research group. The award will be granted to a scientist who has demonstrated significant sustained and/or individual contributions to materials research in the broadest sense including (but not limited to) areas such as theory, experiment, discovery, understanding, inventions, or technique development. No limitation with respect to age, sex, or religious/ethnic affiliation exist. Employees, officers, and current members of the executive committees of IVS are not eligible. Self-nominations will not be accepted. The nomination package should include a nomination package including a one sentence citation and summary of the candidate’s contributions (up to two pages), CV, list of publications and patents, publication and citation statistics, and at least two but not more than three support letters. In addition, we request a statement from the candidate that they will attend the full day of the IVS conference and present the award lecture in person.
