Prof. Anthony J. Muscat, Chair, Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, University of ArizonaAnthony Muscat is a Professor in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona and currently serves as the Department Chair. He received his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Davis (1983) and a Ph.D. also in chemical engineering from Stanford University (1993). Anthony did postdocs in the Department of Physics at the Université Laval in Québec City, Canada and in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT. He was an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at San José State University before moving to the University of Arizona. He spent a sabbatical year at the Interuniversity MicroElectronics Center (IMEC) and Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Katholic University, Leuven, Belgium. His research interest is in the chemistry that occurs on solid surfaces. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM). He is active in the Materials Research Society (MRS), Electrochemical Society (ECS), and American Vacuum Society (AVS). In 2015 he chaired the AVS International Symposium, and is currently serving two-year terms (2016-2017) as a member of the Board of Directors of AVS and of the AVS New Mexico Chapter.
